Yu-Dong Yao is an experienced terrestrial wireless and satellite systems engineer
Yu-Dong Yao works in wireless and satellite systems at Stevens. Earlier, Yao was at Carleton University in Ottawa, where he worked on mobile radio communications and DSP for digital subscriber loop transmissions. Afterwards, at Spar Aerospace in Montreal, he did research on satellite communications. Later, at Qualcomm in San Diego, he participated in R&D in wireless CDMA systems and low-earth orbit satellite communications systems. Yao, who holds one Chinese and six US patents, is an associate editor of IEEE Communications Letters. With broad interests in wireless communications covering signal propagation, interference, DSP for wireless applications, spread spectrum, and CDMA, Yao received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University in China.
