Patricia E. Cataruozolo has 28 years experience in the field of Clinical Oncology and holds the position of Global Clinician for breast cancer trials sponsored by Pfizer. In that role she utilizes a project management approach, and the tools of that profession to oversee clinical trials of experimental drugs. She has been with Pfizer for over 10 years. Prior to joining Pfizer, Cataruozolo was employed for over 10 years by Hackensack University Medical Center as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Chief of Internal Medicine. In addition, she teaches graduate level courses in Pharmaceutical Research and Development and Project Management in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She has taught in graduate school since 2004.
In her spare time, she works as a forensic nurse, certified in sexual assault for the Somerset County Prosecutor’s office. She has several publications based on her work in influenza vaccinations, and most recently on her work with a clinical trial on breast cancer utilizing angiogenesis inhibitors (submission accepted 2009, Ann Oncol).
Cataruozolo holds a BS in Nursing and an MS in Management (Stevens ’99) and holds a certificate in Project Management (Stevens ’99) and Pharmaceutical Industry Information Technology (Stevens ’03). She is pursuing her PhD in Engineering Management at Stevens. Her thesis is concentrated in the field of Systems Dynamics and its use in the mitigation of suicide in the military.
