Mahmoud Daneshmand is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, AT&T Labs Research; Executive Director of University Collaborations Program and Assistant Chief Scientist of AT&T Labs; Affiliate Professor of the School of Technology Management and Computer Science, Stevens Institute of Technology. He has more than 30 years of teaching, research, and management experience in academia and Industry.
His current areas of research are Sensor Networks and RFID Systems including reliability, performance and data mining of sensor and RFID data.
Daneshmand is an expert in Data Mining, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistical Techniques, Risk Management, Quality and Reliability of IPBased Services and Applications, Sensor Networks and RFID Systems.
He has published more than 60 papers; authored/co-authored two books; and co-edited the publication of the Seventh (2002) and Eleventh (2006) IEEE proceedings on Computers and Communications.
Daneshmand has also innovated and led execution of more than 30 Bell Labs and AT&T Labs large-scale projects on computer and communications. He has served as a statistical consultant in many research projects. Daneshmand has made extensive contributions to the Standards and regulatory organizations including ITU, ANSI, and FCC (invented the well known standardized Networks Outage Index).
Daneshmand has a PhD and MA in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley and MS and BS in
Mathematics from the University of Tehran.
